Noosa is one of the most popular holiday destinations on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for a reason.
Sheltered beaches, great surf, stunning national parks and awesome adventures are right on your doorstep and a stay at Ingenia Holidays Noosa North puts all these attractions within easy reach. To make the most of your getaway, here is our local’s guide to Noosa.
Best morning coffee
If you need a coffee fix as soon as you wake up, and you can’t wait until you get to Hastings Street, head to Café VinCino in the Noosa Marina. Just a five-minute drive from the park, it opens early and has a lovely deck with tranquil river views – a wonderfully relaxed start to any day.
Best beach
While Main Beach is by far the most popular, and busy, you’ll find quieter beaches if you know where to look. Little Cove, tucked away between Main Beach and Noosa National Park is an easily accessible alternative, or head into the national park to find Tea Tree Bay Beach, a hidden gem that’s worth the walk, it has one of the area’s best surf breaks too!
Best day trip
A trip to the Eumundi markets is a must. Held every Wednesday and Saturday morning, the whole family will enjoy strolling amongst stalls brimming with handmade crafts, art, clothes and more. But if you’re looking for something different, visit the Noosa Everglades, one of only two in the world. Hire a canoe, join a guided canoe tour or take a cruise to explore this fabulous part of Noosa.
Best scenic walk
You don’t have to venture far to be surrounded by awesome scenery. Just a 10-minute stroll from Main Beach, you’ll find the entrance to Noosa National Park. At just under 6km return, the coastal walk to the rather ominous sounding Hell’s Gate takes just half an hour each way and you’ll pass lookouts perfect for dolphin spotting and whale watching, as well as the fairy pools, along the way.
Best places to eat
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining in Noosa. If you’re looking for somewhere right on the beach try Season Restaurant. Locations don’t come much better than this and the food is great too. For dinner, you’ll love the modern Asian fusion served up at Sum Yung Guys in Noosaville. Overlooking the Noosa River, the menu will set your taste buds tingling before your meal even arrives. It’s a popular spot, so book ahead to secure a table.
