Hire a camper and explore the Queensland Coast
Queensland was made for campervan holidays. With so many great destinations to choose from, and experiences to be had, you can hit the open road and discover new adventures around every corner. From stunning mountains to beautiful beaches and unforgettable animal encounters, this Queensland road trip itinerary ticks all your holiday boxes.
Brisbane to Sunshine Coast
120km / 1-2 hours
Pick up your campervan from Apollo Brisbane and head north. Start your coastal adventure exploring the beaches of Caloundra and Mooloolaba en route to your first stop at Ingenia Holidays Rivershore. This resort-style holiday park will see you slip into relaxation mode as soon as you park up. Break out the Wahu inflatables and let the kids splash around in the pool while you sip on a cappuccino at the café that overlooks the pool. And there’s no need to cook when dinnertime ticks round, just head over to the onsite restaurant. Allow at least a few days here as there are some great attractions nearby. SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast and The Ginger Factory are both great for kids.
Sunshine Coast to Hervey Bay
200km / 2.5 hours
Next stop, Hervey Bay. Whale watching cruises (July to October) are a great way to see giant humpbacks up close. Another must-do is a day tour to Fraser Island. It’s the largest sand island in the world and a magical place with freshwater lakes, crystal-clear creeks and endless dunes.
After each day’s adventuring head back to Ingenia Holidays Hervey Bay and cool off in the pool or throw a line in at Urangan Pier. Who knows, you might catch dinner!
Hervey Bay to Noosa
180km / 2.5 hours
Take the opportunity to see another side of the Sunshine Coast on the way back to Brisbane with a pitstop at Ingenia Holidays Noosa North. It’s a great base from which to explore the stunning walks of the Noosa National Park. For something a little different, kayak or cruise the waters of the nearby Noosa Everglades. Teach the kids to surf in the gentle waves of Noosa Main Beach or spend a relaxing day browsing the boutiques and eateries of Hastings Street.
Noosa to Brisbane
135km / 2 hours
Stay in holiday mode on the journey home with a trip to Australia Zoo. It’s only a two-hour drive back to Brisbane, so there’s plenty of time for the kids to see the animals and enjoy shows. Then wind through the scenery of the Glass House Mountains before dropping off your campervan and heading home with a head full of precious memories.
